THIS IS HOW IT ALL STARTED

Jer-n-Al’s Barbecue Sauce has been a Central Valley favorite since May of 1994.

Co-Founder Jerry Berlin and Co-Founder Steve Allen, two friends from Central High School, got serious about barbecue sauce after a series of successes at rib cook offs up and down the state. In 1990, Jerry and Steve decided that they didn’t like any of the barbecue sauces that they were buying, so they decided to put their own concoctions together.

From 1990 to 1996, Jerry and Steve traveled up and down California earning more than fifteen titles in the pork and beef rib divisions. In 1993, after placing first in the rib contest at the Monterey Bay Rib cook-off, they decided to bottle their sauce and “go for it!”

Jerry and Steve knew that once people tried the sauce they would be hooked! With Jer-n-Al’s natural sweet honey smoked flavor, their perfect blend of seasonings make for a “must have” at any barbecue. If you like heat in your sauce, definitely try our Hot-n-Spicy!
